The binary perfect phylogeny with persistent characters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The binary perfect phylogeny model is too restrictive to model biological events such as back mutations. In this paper, we consider a natural generalization of the model that allows a special type of back mutation.

On perfect binary arrays

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1988
The perfect binary arrays introduced by Calabro and Wolf correspond to a class of difference sets, viz. H sets. Existence and construction of H sets on various grids are considered. In particular, H sets on 12*12 grids are presented and a number of two-dimensional grids are indicated where H sets do not exist.< >

Research of ZCZ array pair and its construction methods

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2008
A new quasi-perfect discrete signal—ZCZ array pair which has good periodic correlation property and its con-struction method was proposed. Based on perfect array pair and orthogonal matrix, ZCZ array pairs set with certain vol-ume, family size and zero ...

Constructions of binary array set with zero-correlation zone

open access: yes, 2012
Based on the perfect binary array and the orthogonal matrix, a new method of constructing zero-correlation zone binary array set is proposed, yielding binary array sets with member sizes almost achieve the theoretical upper bound.

Investigating the Low‐Temperature Phase Stability of the Binary Ta–W System

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Atomistic simulations show that the binary Ta–W system forms ordered intermetallic phases, B2‐TaW and D03‐TaW3, as 0 K ground states. Configurational entropy, however, lowers the free energy of the disordered bcc solid solution, which becomes the stable phase above about 400 K.

Effects of Mg on Microstructure and Solidification of a Hypereutectic Zn–8 wt.%Al Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An appreciable set of results involving thermal data, microstructure, chemical composition, and microstructural growth laws is reported for ZnAlMg alloys. Such results demonstrate that ZnAlMg alloys have high potential for applications in automotive self‐lubricating components, batteries, and electrical systems.

Perfect pseudoperiodic binary arrays

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1998
Arrays with good correlation properties are required for code-departure imaging, as well as for other applications of two-dimensional signal processing. Since binary arrays with perfect periodic autocorrelation are rather sparse. 'pseudoperiodic' binary arrays are discussed. The transmitted binary array is correlated in the receiver with the same array

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Nonexistence of perfect binary arrays

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1991
New nonexistence results are deduced for perfect binary arrays from theorems of Turyn on difference sets. It is shown that this rules out 17 undecided cases from the recent table of Chan and Siu for the two-dimensional case.

Memristive‐Gated RC‐Delay Synaptic Transistors for Time‐Encoded Analog in‐Memory Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Memristive‐Gated Transistor for Time‐Encoded Analog In‐Memory Computing — By exploiting the RC delay of a self‐rectifying interface‐type memristor, nonlinear I–V distortion is structurally bypassed, enabling 3‐bit nonvolatile memory, spike‐timing‐based analog encoding, and hardware‐calibrated reservoir‐computing validation within a unified device ...
