Measuring data locality ratio in virtual MapReduce cluster using WorkflowSim

open access: yes, 2017
peer reviewedThe data locality is significant factor which has a direct impact on the performance of MapReduce framework. Several previous works have proposed alternative scheduling algorithms for improving the performance by increasing data locality ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Performance ratio revisited: is PR > 90% realistic?

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, 2012
ABSTRACTIn this study, we investigate the performance ratio (PR) of about 100 German photovoltaic system installations. Monitored PR is found to be systematically lower by ~2–4% when calculated with irradiation data obtained by pyranometers (henceforth denoted as PRPyr) as compared with irradiation amounts measured by reference cells (denoted as PRSi).

Mixed‐class J‐domain protein scaffolds promote expanded aggregate handling and multivalent Hsp70 engagement during functional disaggregase assembly

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

The effect of altering maintenance diet on demand for reinforcers.

open access: yes, 2011
Six hens’ preferences between whole grain wheat, commercial laying pellets and puffed wheat were assessed using a free-access procedure. Wheat was found to be the preferred food of three hens, pellets were preferred by one, puffed wheat was found to be ...

Diagnostic Performance of Neutrophil/Lymphocyte Ratio and Platelet/Lymphocyte Ratio in Endometrioma

open access: yesIstanbul Medical Journal, 2019
Introduction:To evaluate whether neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR) have diagnostic value in endometrioma, which is a chronic inflammatory disease. Methods:A total of 187 patients who underwent surgery for adnexal mass, 97 patients diagnosed with endometrioma and 90 patients with benign cyst (corpus luteum, serous ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
