Diarylheptanoids from the fresh pericarps of Juglans hopeiensis
Fitoterapia, 2019Ten new diarylheptanoids (1-10), including five diarylether-type (1-5), three biaryl-type (6-8), and two linear type (9-10), along with eighteen known ones, were isolated from the fresh pericarps of Juglans hopeiensis Hu. Their structures were settled by integrated spectroscopic techniques, and their absolute configurations were determined by a ...

14CO2 Fixation by Barley Pericarps
1984Barley caryopses have photosynthetic ability (Duffus, Rosie, 1973) and evidence exists that excised wheat caryopses can assimilate externally supplied 14CO2 in the light (Radley, 1976). Stomata have been observed on the ventral side of the caryopsis near the apex (Cochrane, Duffus, 1979) and it is possible that atmospheric CO2 might be available to the

New alkylamides from the pericarps of Zanthoxylum schinifolium
FitoterapiaThe pericarps of Zanthoxylum schinifolium Sieb. et Zucc were called "green huajiao", which were used as traditional folk medicine and popular seasoning in China. In this study, twenty-seven alkylamides, including a rare alkylamide containing two amide groups (1), an alkylamide with a furan ring (5), six new alkylamide analogues (2-4, 6-8), together ...

The diffusivities of O2 and CO2 of exocarp plus pericarp, pericarp, and stem scar of tomatoes were measured by the ‘time lag’ method. The O2 and CO2 diffusivities of stem scar of green stage tomatoes were 0.72 ¥ 10–8 m2/s (7.75 ¥ 10–8 ft2/s) and 0.30 ¥ 10–8 m2/s (3.2 ¥ 10–8 ft2/s), respectively.

In‐depth characterization of the tomato fruit pericarp proteome
PROTEOMICS, 2017Since the genome of Solanum lycopersicum L. was published in 2012, some studies have explored its proteome although with a limited depth. In this work, we present an extended characterization of the proteome of the tomato pericarp at its ripe red stage. Fractionation of tryptic peptides generated from pericarp proteins by off‐line high‐pH reverse‐phase

Volatile Constituents of Litchi Pericarp.
2009The litchi ( Litchi chinensis Sonn. ), an exotic fruit in southeast Asia, has an unusual warm-floral and sweet citrus flavor, and is popular in the supermarkets worldwide. In China, annual litchi production is about 1. 5 million tons. Litchi pericarp, generally considered as the waste, accounts for approximately 15 percent of the total weight of fresh ...
