Early synapsids neurosensory diversity revealed by CT and synchrotron scanning
Abstract Non‐mammaliaform synapsids (NMS) represent the closest relatives of today's mammals among the early amniotes. Exploring their brain and nervous system is key to understanding how mammals evolved. Here, using CT and Synchrotron scanning, we document for the first time three extreme cases of neurosensory and behavioral adaptations that probe ...

Personalized Models of Biological Barriers and Their Diseases: Recent Progress with Organs‐On‐Chips
Buck and Bugter et al. explore the architectural diversity and physiological functions of human barrier systems and reveal how organ‐on‐chip platforms, particularly those integrating patient‐derived cells, are advancing barrier disease modeling. They highlight how emerging biological and technological advances can be used to bridge the gap between ...

Blood Labyrinth Barrier Waste Clearance as Assessed by GBCAs on MRI: A Scoping Review
ABSTRACT Objective The discovery of the glymphatic system in the brain and eye has raised the hypothesis of a similar system in the inner ear. Dysfunctional lymph fluid dynamics may contribute to inner ear conditions such as Meniere's Disease (MD) and endolymphatic hydrops (EH).

Recurrent meningitis and a congenital perilymph fistula.
In any child with recurrent meningitis, the presence of a congenital perilymph fistula must be entertained. All of the patients must have an audiologic assessment, and if a sensorineural loss is demonstrated, CT of the temporal bones should be performed.

Spontaneous and traumatic perilymph fistulas [PDF]
AbstractClinicians have been aware of the problem of post‐stapedectomy peri‐lymph fistulas for some time. The existence of non‐surgical oval and round window fistulas has been known and was first described in detail by Fee in 1968. This paper concerns a small series of patients with spontaneous and traumatic perilymph fistulas.
