Permeability characteristics of the epithelium in the rat caput epididymidis [PDF]

open access: yesReproduction, 1981
Summary. Micropuncture techniques were used to study the in-vivo transfer of radioactive compounds of different molecular weights across the epithelium of the rat caput epididymidis. Small molecular weight compounds such as 3H2O and [14C]urea equilibrated in less than 20 min and 2 h respectively after intravenous injection.

Characteristics of Permeability for an Unsaturated Soil

open access: yesJournal of The Korean Society of Agricultural Engineers, 2005
In order to analyse the flow problems for an unsaturated soil, it is required to examine closely the characteristics of the coefficient of permeability which is changing with the matric suction. To this ends, a permeability test was conducted on the three samples;granular soil, cohesive soil and silty soil.

Experimental Study on Mechanics and Permeability Properties of Water-Bearing Raw Coal Samples Under In-Situ Stress

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this paper, we investigated the mechanical and permeability characteristics of water-bearing raw coal samples under in-situ stress, and came to some conclusions, as follows: the peak strength and peak axial strain of samples gradually decrease with ...

A model for predicting gas-water relative permeability of rock media based on fractal dimension characteristics

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2023
The relative permeability is an essential mechanical parameter characterizing the two-phase flow of rock media, and how to obtain the relative permeability quickly and effectively has become a critical issue to be solved in the current studies. A fractal

Influence of coal seam bedding on the effect of fracturing coal and enhancing permeability by microwave

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
As a typical structural weak surface, bedding is ubiquitous in coal seams. The relative mechanical properties between coal seam bedding and coal matrix are the key to determining the effect of enhancing permeability by microwave in coal seams with ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Macroscopic permeability and microscopic structural evolution of anthracite under synergistic injection of steam and oxygen in gasification-pyrolysis

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
To investigate the fracture patterns and flow evolution characteristics of coal seams in different regions between injection and production wells during the steam-oxygen gasification–pyrolysis process, a long-distance reaction experiment was conducted on

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
