Results in the determination of some Hosta varieties by the method of isoelectric focusing

open access: yesInternational Journal of Horticultural Science, 2001
Mass propagation of 5 newly introduced Hosta varieties was carried out by the method of micropropagation. Our aim was to determine exact variety specificity after the micropropagation period in the pattern of peroxidase isoenzymes by isoelectric focusing

Characterization of peroxidase and catalase genes in defense mechanisms of Physcomitrella patens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Systemic acquired resistance (SAR) and the hypersensitive response (HR) are two important induced defense mechanisms in plants. SAR is the development of an enhanced resistance to a pathogen due to a prior encounter.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

The Estimation of the Antioxidant Enzymes Activity in Representatives of Different Populations of Lymnaea stagnalis Differ in the Degree of Infestation Under Temperature Stress [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Stress Physiology & Biochemistry, 2016
The aim of this study was to assess the impact of effects of thermal stress and parasitic infestation on the activity of antioxidant enzymes (peroxidase, catalase and glutathione S-transferase) in different populations of wide-spread species of pulmonate

Changes of antioxidant enzymes of mung bean [Vigna radiata (L.) R. Wilczek] in response to host and non-host bacterial pathogens

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection Research, 2016
The natural resistance against the majority of potential pathogens that exist in most plant species is known as non-host resistance. Several reports suggest the role of antioxidant enzymes in non-host resistance.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Discovery and biodegradation characterization of polyethylene by Metabacillus niabensis

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
Polyethylene (PE), a type of plastic, is the primary contributor to persistent and prolonged environmental contamination. Plastic biodegradation is considered a promising approach to addressing current environmental issues.
