This study investigates the protective role of salubrinal against heat‐induced endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in mouse spermatogenic cells (GC1 and GC2). By modulating the ER stress pathway, salubrinal alleviates cellular stress and supports spermatogenic cell survival, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic candidate for heat‐related infertility.

Vitamin E requirements of adult domestic cats (Felis catus) fed diets containing high levels of fish oil : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirement for the degree of Master of Nutritional Sciences at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]
The vitamin E (α-tocopherol) requirement of adult cats fed diets containing high levels of fish oil was investigated. Thirty-two (16 male, 16 female) adult domestic cats (Felis catus) were randomly allocated to four groups according to sex and fed one of

A simple method to assess the oxidative susceptibility of low density lipoproteins [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Oxidative modification of low density lipoproteins (LDL) is recognized as one of the major processes involved in atherogenesis. The in vitro standardized measurement of LDL oxidative susceptibility could thus be of clinical significance.

Oxacycle Synthesis via Intramolecular Reaction of Carbanions and Peroxides
The intramolecular reaction of dialkyl peroxides with carbanions, generated via chemoselective metal-heteroatom exchange or deprotonation, provides a new approach to cyclic ethers.

We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

The role of lipid metabolism in neuronal senescence
Disrupted lipid metabolism, through alterations in lipid species or lipid droplet accumulation, can drive neuronal senescence. However, lipid dyshomeostasis can also occur alongside neuronal senescence, further amplifying tissue damage. Delineating how lipid‐induced senescence emerges in neurons and glial cells, and how it contributes to ageing and ...

Effects of duration and temperature of heating of sunflower oil on ruminal linoleic acid biohydrogenation in vitro [PDF]
Feeding cows with heat treated oilseeds results in an increase of milk conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) content compared to feeding raw seeds. Heating leads to a lipid peroxidation, which could reduce the amount of fatty acids (FA) subjected to ...
