Ecophysiological indicators of stress in female Persian sturgeon, Acipenser persicus

2000
The study on the ecophysiological impacts of stress in female Persian sturgeon broodfishes revealed that the average cortisol level varried in all broodfish caught at the Sefidrud River (163.38±21.2ng mL-1), Sefidrud River estuary (260.27±19.7ng mL-1) and Gorganrud River estuary (179.38±20.8ng mL-1).

Genetic diversity of lactic acid bacteria in the intestine of Persian sturgeon fingerlings

Journal of Applied Ichthyology, 2012
Summary Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are often found as sub-dominant microbial components in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of fish and have positive effects on the host. They are generally promising candidates for probiotics and can act as substances to improving both native immune responses and growth performance of animals including fish.

Chemical and Biochemical Hydrolysis of Persian Sturgeon (Acipenser persicus) Visceral Protein

Food and Bioprocess Technology, 2009
Chemical (pH 3.3, 70 °C, 85 °C; pH 12, 70 °C, 85 °C) and biochemical (Alcalase, Protamex, Neutrase, Flavourzyme, and Trypsin) hydrolysis of Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus) visceral protein was investigated. The results of this study revealed that there are significant differences between enzymes in terms of degree of hydrolysis (DH%; P < 0.05 ...

Application of microsatellite markers to determine populations of the Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus)

2011
The objective of this study was to analyse the population genetic structure of the Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus) in Sefidrud and Gorganrud rivers watershed based on the characterization of microsatellite markers during 2006 – 2008. 100 samples of Persian sturgeon were collected from two regions.

The temperature effects of the embryonic period of the Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus)

2009
Regulation of water temperature is a major factor affecting the embryonic development of fish species. We examined effects of five temperatures, from 13°C to 23°C on three embryonic phases including cleavage, neurolation and hatching in Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus) from March to May 2006.

Sex and maturity determination of Persian sturgeon by using ultrasonography methods

2001
Sex and maturity determination of live fishes without external sexual dimorphism or when there is no developed external characters is very important from different species. In this regard, the ultrasonography methods was used to determine sex and maturity of Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus).
