Gender Differences in Undergraduate Physics Courses: A Comparative Study of Persistence

open access: yes, 2017
We have investigated the difference in persistence between male and female students while taking undergraduatephysics courses. To quantify the persistence of a certain group of students, we have defined 'persistence index' as the inverseof the decrease ...

Effects of temporal variability on rare plant persistence in annual [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Traditional conservation biology regards environmental fluctuations as detrimental to persistence, reducing long-term average growth rates and increasing the probability of extinction.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Degradation dynamics of quinalphos on cabbage under subtropical conditions of Ludhiana, Punjab, India

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2011
A study was undertaken to determine the disappearance trends of quinalphos residues on cabbage under subtropical conditions at Ludhiana. Single application of quinalphos was made @ 500 and 1000 g a.i.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Heterogeneity and Persistence in Returns to Wealth

open access: yesEconometrica, 2018
We provide a systematic analysis of the properties of individual returns to wealth using 12 years of population data from Norway's administrative tax records. We document a number of novel results.

The structure and stability of persistence modules

open access: yes, 2012
We give a self-contained treatment of the theory of persistence modules indexed over the real line. We give new proofs of the standard results. Persistence diagrams are constructed using measure theory.
