The LCG POOL Project, General Overview and Project Structure
The POOL project has been created to implement a common persistency framework for the LHC Computing Grid (LCG) application area. POOL is tasked to store experiment data and meta data in the multi Petabyte area in a distributed and grid enabled way. First

Generalized roof duality and bisubmodular functions [PDF]
Consider a convex relaxation $\hat f$ of a pseudo-boolean function $f$. We say that the relaxation is {\em totally half-integral} if $\hat f(x)$ is a polyhedral function with half-integral extreme points $x$, and this property is preserved after adding ...

Persistent Mayer homology and persistent Mayer Laplacian
In algebraic topology, the differential (i.e., boundary operator) typically satisfies $d^{2}=0$. However, the generalized differential $d^{N}=0$ for an integer $N\geq 2$ has been studied in terms of Mayer homology on $N$-chain complexes for more than eighty years. We introduce Mayer Laplacians on $N$-chain complexes.

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Potential role of hypoxia in maintaining lactation persistency of dairy cows
Mammary gland health plays a key role in maintaining lactation persistency. As a well-known factor involved in physiological processes, the role of oxygen levels in bovine mammary health and lactation persistency remains to be investigated.

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Relativism and Persistence [PDF]
[FIRST PARAGRAPHS] Philosophers often talk as if what it takes for a person to persist through time were up to us,\ud as individuals or as a linguistic community, to decide. In most ordinary situations it might be\ud fully determinate whether someone has survived or perished: barring some unforeseen\ud catastrophe, it is clear enough that you will ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Study of individual lactation patterns of Iranian dairy buffaloes
The aims of the current study were 1) to investigate the effects of some environmental factors on lactation curve traits (LCTs) including initial milk yield (A), peak yield (PY), days to attain peak yield (PD), inclining- and declining slope of lactation
