Personal cooling garments: a review
The Journal of The Textile Institute, 2014Personal cooling garments have been developed to reduce the risk of heat stress and heat-related injuries in hot environments. The human body can suffer from a kind of heat stress resulting in reduced working endurance and performance and an increased risk of heat illness when exposed to hot climates.

Radiative Cooling Nanofabric for Personal Thermal Management
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2022A wearable textile that is engineered to reflect incoming sunlight and allow the transmission of mid-infrared radiation simultaneously would have a great impact on the human body's thermal regulation in an outdoor environment. However, developing such a textile is a tough challenge.

Abstract This paper reports development of a personal cooling belt using a short vortex tube. The vortex tube uses compressed air as the working substance and converts about half of it into a cold stream which circulates in the waist belt. Trials conducted on various individuals resulted in satisfactory performance.

Personalized Cooling System Using Phase Change Materials
Key Engineering Materials, 2021The most widely used personal protective system against heat stress is cooling vest that contains phase change material (PCM) for thermal energy storage. PCMs have the property of absorbing/releasing heat when they change their phase at their melting point.
