The role of anxiety and perspective-taking strategy on affective empathic responses
Empathy is an important pro-social behaviour critical to a positive clientetherapist relationship. Therapist anxiety has been linked to reduced ability to empathise and lower client satisfaction with therapy.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

From tumor‐centric to ecosystem‐based hypotheses in brain tumor research and care
Primary brain tumors, whether in adults or children, present a major challenge because of their dramatic prognosis and the ongoing lack of efficient therapeutic approaches. In recent years, a shift has occurred from tumor‐centric concepts to a more holistic view of these tumors as dynamic ecosystems.

Perspective Taking and Advance Directives
New brain imaging suggests that asking patients to put themselves in their surrogates’ shoes when thinking about advance directives might lead to directives that better line up with what surrogates think they should decide. Virtual Mentor is a monthly bioethics journal published by the American Medical Association.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
