On the classification and treatment of outliers in a spatial context: A Bayesian Updating approach
Checking and treating extreme values is commonplace in modelling workflows. The main methods to manage outliers may be categorized into graphical, Kriging- and simulation-based approaches.

Probabilistic Inference in Queueing Networks [PDF]
Although queueing models have long been used to model the performance of computer systems, they are out of favor with practitioners, because they have a reputation for requiring unrealistic distributional assumptions.

Large multidimensional digital images of cancer tissue are becoming prolific, but many challenges exist to automatically extract relevant information from them using computational tools. We describe publicly available resources that have been developed jointly by expert and non‐expert computational biologists working together during a virtual hackathon

Today Besancon has the highest percentage of green space per inhabitant among France’s largest cities (200 m2 per capita). 3/4 of it are made up by the Forêt de Chailluz (16.7 km2), a large forest which has maintained its present extent for over six ...

Empirical Bayesian Learning in AR Graphical Models [PDF]
We address the problem of learning graphical models which correspond to high dimensional autoregressive stationary stochastic processes. A graphical model describes the conditional dependence relations among the components of a stochastic process and represents an important tool in many fields.

The Symbolic Narrative of the Body in Murniasih’s Paintings : an Hermeneutical Study [PDF]
This article is a study on I.G.K Murniasih’s paintings on the perspective of hermeneutics. It focuses on the aspects of symbolic-narrative, i.e. the narrative elements which optimized the potentials of symbols.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a disease with very poor prognosis due to therapeutic limitations. We investigated the antitumor effects of cystatin A (CSTA) in PDAC murine models. We are first to confirm that CSTA enhances T helper type 1‐mediated antitumor effects through promotion of dendritic cells and M1 macrophage activity. CSTA can be

Recent Advances in Transient Imaging: A Computer Graphics and Vision Perspective [PDF]
Transient imaging has recently made a huge impact in the computer graphics and computer vision fields. By capturing, reconstructing, or simulating light transport at extreme temporal resolutions, researchers have proposed novel techniques to show movies of light in motion, see around corners, detect objects in highly-scattering media, or infer material

CAD/CAM from the Graphic Design Perspective [PDF]
CAD/CAM Systems have evolved elaborate human-computer interfaces in order to facilitate the creation of highly detailed and specialized schematic diagrams and texts. Although these systems have powerful capacities in terms of graphics editing, data manipulation, and data storage, insufficient attention has been given to making the online interface ...

Clinical significance of stratifying prostate cancer patients through specific circulating genes
We tested a specific panel of genes representative of luminal, neuroendocrine and stem‐like cells in the blood of prostate cancer patients, showing predictive value from diagnosis to late stages of disease. This approach allows monitoring of treatment responses and outcomes at specific time points in trajectories.
