Corrosion and Passivation: An Intimate Struggle for Durable Non‐Aqueous Multivalent Metal Batteries

open access: yesNational Materials, EarlyView.
In multivalent metal batteries, corrosion and passivation are intrinsically coupled. Anodes and current collectors pose conflicting interfacial demands: ion‐ versus electron‐conductivity. This review deciphers their intricate interplay and discusses current strategies to balance these mechanisms for achieving durable battery performance.

The Uncharted Territory of the New Obesity Drugs in Users Without Obesity: A Sociomedical Perspective

open access: yesObesity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The off‐label use of glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1ra) among people without obesity and/or diabetes is rapidly expanding, despite a lack of clinical justification or safety data in this population. This Perspective explores the sociomedical dimensions of this trend, highlighting key research gaps and emerging hypotheses ...

From the brink of extinction to regulation: northern Europe's white‐tailed eagles now face density dependence and climate constraints after rapid population growth

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Population growth reflects the combined influence of regulation and density‐independent factors operating through demographic processes. Under exceptional circumstances (e.g. populations recovering from near‐extinction), growth may initially be weakly regulated but typically slows as negative density dependence (NDD) sets in.

The disruption of seed dispersal networks: disentangling the effects of habitat loss and fragmentation

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Seed dispersal by frugivores is a central process linking plant reproduction, animal foraging, population persistence, and ecosystem resilience. Currently, the spatial template sustaining these interactions is rapidly reconfigured by habitat loss and fragmentation promoted by human activity.
