Altering singlet fission pathways in perylene-dimers; perylene-diimide versus perylene-monoimide [PDF]
The inherent differences on coplanarity and dipole moment in perylene-monoimides versus perylene-diimides and their impact on the singlet fission process were investigated in a series of phenylene- and naphthalene-linked dimers.

Perylene, Oligorylenes, and Aza-Analogs
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2015An in-depth discussion of the properties of perylene is presented. Tuning the properties of perylene by introducing nitrogens is also explored. Finally, we do not discuss the synthesis and properties of oligorylenes functionalized with dicarboxyimide bonds.

The growth of perylene on Ru(0001)
The structure of perylene adsorbed on Ru(0001) surface has been studied by ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy (UPS) and low-energy electron diffraction. An ordered p(4×4) structure is observed from a monolayer (about 4 Å thickness) of the perylene on Ru(0001) surface.

AbstractThe π‐conjugated supramolecular polymers (SMP) have gained vast popularity in materials chemistry and biomedicine due to their spectacular self‐assembling behaviour. A detailed account of the electronic structure and bonding through quantum theory of atoms‐in‐molecules, non‐covalent interactions, and energy decomposition analysis (EDA) in the ...

Based on Doppler-shift measurements we have determined the positron drift velocity u in a high-purity monoclinic \ensuremath{\alpha}-perylene single crystal as a function of applied electric field F and temperature. The electric field is applied as a triangular wave with a maximum field ${\mathit{F}}_{\mathrm{max}}$.

Perylene–Oligothiophene–Perylene Triads for Photovoltaic Applications
European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2005AbstractA series of novel acceptor–donor–acceptor triad systems, consisting of head‐to‐tail‐coupled oligo(3‐hexylthiophene)s integrated between two terminal perylenemonoimides are described. These hybrid molecules, which differ by the length of the oligothiophene units from a quaterthiophene up to a dodecithiophene were synthesized by an effective ...

Grafting Perylenes to ZnO Nanoparticles
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2014AbstractA new prototype of dendritic perylenes suitable for the chemical functionalization of inorganic nanoparticles was synthesized and characterized. The bay‐functionalized perylene core of these molecular architectures was coupled to a catechol moiety, which serves as an anchor group for the functionalization of metal oxides, in particular ZnO.

Fusing perylene diimide with helicenes
Chirality, 2023AbstractIncorporating perylene diimide (PDI) units into helicene structures has become a useful strategy for giving access to non‐planar electron acceptors as well as a method of creating molecules with unique and intriguing chiroptical properties. This minireview describes this fusion of PDIs with helicenes.
