Cell death: The underlying mechanisms of photodynamic therapy for skin diseases
Photodynamic therapy has significant potential in the treatment of skin diseases though it has some limitations. A thorough understanding of the underlying mechanism is integral to solving these problems. This review focuses on the induction of cell death and its relevant pathways.

Two 1,8‐naphthalenediol‐based ligands are coupled in a multistep oxidative cascade reaction to a tetranuclear perylenequinone‐based FeIII complex involving an overall 10‐electron oxidation. The assignment of the electronic structure of the new backbone is based on experimental data supported by DFT calculations.

Elsinoe species: The rise of scab diseases
We critically evaluate research on the taxonomic status, phylogenetic relationships, host range, biology and epidemiology of Elsinoe causing scab diseases—a genus known for over 100 years but which remains poorly understood. Abstract The genus Elsinoe contains many aggressive pathogens of a wide range of plants, many of which are economically important.

Antimicrobial Polymeric Nanoparticles in Endodontics: A Systematic Review
Background: The efficacy of endodontic treatments, essential for managing infections and injuries in dental pulp, heavily relies on completely eradicating microorganisms from the root canal system. Traditional methods often fail to achieve thorough disinfection, prompting the exploration of polymeric nanoparticles for their potential to enhance ...

Phaeosphaerins A–F, Cytotoxic Perylenequinones from an Endolichenic Fungus, Phaeosphaeria sp.
Six novel phototoxins, phaeosphaerins A–F (1–6), together with six known perylenequinones were isolated from an endolichenic fungus Phaeosphaeria sp. Their structures were determined unequivocally on the basis of comprehensive analysis of MS and NMR data

Significance of lignin and fungal markers in the Devonian (407 Ma) Rhynie Chert
Abstract The Rhynie Chert (Lower Devonian, Scotland) hosts a remarkably well‐preserved early terrestrial ecosystem. Organisms including plants, fungi, arthropods, and bacteria were rapidly silicified due to inundation by silica‐rich hot spring fluids.
