Female desert locusts dig underground to lay their eggs. They displace soil, rather than removing it, to create a tunnel. We analyze burrowing dynamics and 3D kinematics and design a locust‐inspired hybrid soft–stiff robot that reproduces this mechanism. The results show the natural strategy minimizes energy, whereas alternative patterns raise costs up

Current‐Limiting Control Strategies in Variable Capacitance Electrostatic Energy Harvesters
This work introduces control strategies for electrostatic energy harvesters that balance energy yield with current limitations. Two approaches are explored: traditional peak‐triggered controls, and newly developed quadrature controls, which use smooth voltage profiles.

Carya luodianensis (Juglandaceae), a new species, is described and illustrated. We combined morphological characteristics, comparative plastome analyses, and phylogenetic analysis, all of which support the recognition of C. luodianensis as a new species and highlight its evolutionary divergence within Carya. ABSTRACT Carya luodianensis Y.B. Yang & M.T.

The Aerodynamic Effect of Biomimetic Pigeon Feathered Wing on a 1-DoF Flapping Mechanism
This study focused on designing a single-degree-of-freedom (1-DoF) mechanism emulating the wings of rock pigeons. Three wing models were created: one with REAL feathers from a pigeon, and the other two models with 3D-printed artificial remiges made using

Validation of 3-Point Bending Strength of PETG Material Printed via FDM Using FEA
This paper analyses the flexural strength of the PETG material prepared by Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) techniques. The present study validates experimental and numerical approaches in this regard. Samples were prepared based on the ASTM D790 standards and tested by 3-point bending to understand their mechanical properties.
