Phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI) variants in the Netherlands

Human Genetics, 1977
Six hundred individuals of pure Dutch ancestry have been typed for their erythrocyte phosphoglucose isomerase phenotypes by starch gel and cellulose acetate electrophoresis. In two individuals a variant phenotype was discovered. One phenotype was found to be indistinguishable from PGI-Phillips.

Pgi: the ongoing saga of a candidate gene

Current Opinion in Insect Science, 2014
Numerous studies have found amino acid variation at the phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI) gene associated with organismal performance and fitness. Here we focus upon recent advances in the study of this gene, highlighting novel species being studied, new tools being used, and emerging insights into the evolutionary dynamics acting on this gene.

Implementing the PGI Accelerator model

Proceedings of the 3rd Workshop on General-Purpose Computation on Graphics Processing Units, 2010
The PGI Accelerator model is a high-level programming model for accelerators, such as GPUs, similar in design and scope to the widely-used OpenMP directives. This paper presents some details of the design of the compiler that implements the model, focusing on the Planner, the element that maps the program parallelism onto the hardware parallelism.

PGI Kaszubska Strawberries in Poland

2019
Polish farmers try to exploit opportunities offered by the EU agricultural product quality policy by registering their products in the EU quality Schemes. A group of 18 farmers from Kaszuby region registered the Kaszubska Strawberry as a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) product in November 2009.

Protein Gaussian Image (PGI)

Il Nuovo Cimento C, 2012
A well-known shape representation usually applied for 3D object recognition is the Extended Gaussian Image (EGI) which maps the histogram of the orientations of the object surface on the unitary sphere. We propose to adopt an analogous “abstract” data-structure named Protein Gaussian Image (PNM) for representing the orientation of the protein secondary
