Clinical application of NGS-based SNP haplotyping for PGT-M of methylmalonic acidemia

Systems Biology in Reproductive Medicine, 2021
This study describes a successful case of preimplantation genetic testing for the monogenic disease (PGT-M) of methylmalonic acidemia (MMA). To avoid the transmission of pathogenic mutations and unnecessary pregnancy termination we applied next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based haplotyping on a couple with a previously deceased MMA offspring.

Analysis of PGT‐M and PGT‐SR outcomes at a Canadian fertility clinic

Prenatal Diagnosis, 2019
AbstractObjectiveOutcomes from in vitro fertilization (IVF)/intrauterine insemination (ICSI) cycles for patients who underwent preimplantation genetic testing for monogenic/single gene (PGT‐M) and structural chromosome rearrangements (PGT‐SR) patients were reviewed.

73. SIMULTANEOUS PGT-M APPLICATIONS FOR MULTIPLE GENETIC CONDITIONS

Reproductive BioMedicine Online, 2019
Introduciton Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis for monogenic disorders (PGT-M) have been extensively applied for genetic conditions resulting from mutations at single genetic locus . Vast amount of data have arised from Whole Exom Sequencing (WES) and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) technologies it is not always straight forward to filter out the ...

Perinatal and Pediatric Outcome of Pregnancies Following PGT-M/SR/A

2023
Perinatal and pediatric outcomes of pregnancies following PGT-M/SR/A have been studied tremendously since concerns regarding the outcome were raised based on the Developmental Origin of Health and Disease Hypothesis. The application of PGT, very briefly described as IVF with the biopsy of embryonic cell(s), may introduce extra stressors during early ...

Fertility preservation and PGT-M in women with familial adenomatous polyposis-associated desmoid tumours

Reproductive BioMedicine Online, 2021
Is ovarian stimulation and pregnancy in women with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP)-associated desmoid tumours safe? The study included women with FAP-associated desmoid tumours who underwent fertility treatments at the authors' tertiary medical centre between the years 2011 and 2021. Data were collected from the fertility unit's charts and from the

Understanding PGT-M: A Guide for Clinicians

Seminars in Reproductive Medicine
Abstract Preimplantation genetic testing for monogenic conditions (PGT-M) is the process of testing embryos created in vitro to screen for specific monogenic conditions. Embryos unaffected by the condition of interest can then be selectively transferred to the uterus to establish a pregnancy.
