Downregulation of Tumor Necrosis Factor Expression in the Human Mono-Mac-6 Cell Line [PDF]
Mono-Mac-6 cells, but not U937 cells, can be Induced to rapidly express tumor necrosis factor (TNF) mRNA and protein when triggered with Ilpopolysaccharlde (LPS) at 1 pg/mI. Preincubatlon of the cells for 3 d with low amounts of LPS (10 ng/mI) results In

Two‐Photon 3D Printing of Functional Microstructures Inside Living Cells
This study demonstrates 3D printing inside living cells by using two‐photon photo‐lithography. A bio‐compatible photoresist is injected into cells and selectively polymerized with a femtosecond laser, creating custom‐shaped intracellular structures with submicron resolution.

Antibody-Dependent Cellular Phagocytosis in Antiviral Immune Responses
Antiviral activities of antibodies may either be dependent only on interactions between the antibody and cognate antigen, as in binding and neutralization of an infectious virion, or instead may require interactions between antibody–antigen immune ...

Manipulation of Autophagy in Phagocytes Facilitates Staphylococcus aureus Bloodstream Infection
The capacity for intracellular survival within phagocytes is likely a critical factor facilitating the dissemination of Staphylococcus aureus in the host. To date, the majority of work on S.

The study reports a DNA/RNA heteroduplex hydrogel (SeroPTEN‐CG) that undergoes DNase‐mediated hydrogel‐to‐nanogel transition for spinal cord injury therapy by targeting the serotonergic system, combining 5‐hydroxytryptamine (5‐HT)‐mediated excitability restoration to reactivate dormant interneurons with phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN)‐targeted ...

Vertebrate Epidermal Cells Are Broad-Specificity Phagocytes That Clear Sensory Axon Debris
Cellular debris created by developmental processes or injury must be cleared by phagocytic cells to maintain and repair tissues. Cutaneous injuries damage not only epidermal cells but also the axonal endings of somatosensory (touch-sensing) neurons ...

CD207+ dendritic cells (DCs) drive emphysema by promoting CD8⁺ T cell cytotoxicity via Birbeck granule‐dependent MHC‐I antigen presentation. This DC subset is expanded by cigarette smoke‐induced oxidative stress, which triggers granulocyte‐macrophage colony‐stimulating factor (GM‐CSF) release from airway epithelium.

Dysregulated Tissue resident macrophage (TRMs) link to autoimmune inflammation. SMURF2 mediates Lys‐27 (K27)‐linked ubiquitination of p‐TBK1 and its degradation, which inhibits CSF1R signaling‐triggered TRM proliferation, thereby restraining the autoimmune inflammation.
