Spatiotemporal Transcriptomic Profiling Reveals the Dynamic Immunological Landscape of Alveolar Echinococcosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An unprecedented high‐resolution spatial atlas of the E. multilocularis infection foci is obtained, revealing the dynamic functions of neutrophils, Spp1+ macrophages, and fibroblasts during disease progression. The transition of parasite control strategy from “active killing” to “negative segregation” by the host may provide instructive insights into ...

Acid digestion and symbiont: Proton sharing at the origin of mitochondriogenesis?

open access: yesBioEssays, Volume 45, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
ADMit hypothesis for the origin of eukaryotes. A bacterial symbiont became associated with a protophagocytic host that captured prey with membrane processes. The symbiont cooperated to kill and digest the prey with reactive oxygen species and the acidification of the microenvironment.

Immunomodulatory effects of herbal plants plus melatonin on human blood phagocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
It has been shown a mixture of seven herbal plants was able to trigger cell oxidative mechanism and subsequently inducing cellular activation. Moreover, melatonin hormone has also been shown to perform different actions on the cellular oxidative ...

Targeting Decidual CD16+ Immune Cells with Exosome‐Based Glucocorticoid Nanoparticles for Miscarriage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exosome‐based nanoparticles (GC‐Exo‐CD16Ab) are designed to deliver glucocorticoids (GC) specifically to decidual CD16+ NK cells and macrophages. This targeted delivery effectively suppresses the cytotoxicity of decidual NK cells, inhibits M1 macrophage polarization, and modulates the decidual microenvironment.

Targeting Frequent Efferocytosis in Tumor Microenvironment is a New Direction for Cancer Treatment

open access: yesSmall Science
A variety of factors, such as dietary habits, the external environment, and individual genetic differences, can lead to the development of cancer. While chemotherapy and radiotherapy are commonly used for cancer treatment, drug resistance and side ...

Apoptotic Vesicles Derived from Mesenchymal Stem Cells Ameliorate Hypersensitivity Responses via Inducing CD8+ T Cells Apoptosis with Calcium Overload and Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The therapeutic potential of ApoVs derived from stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED‐ApoVs) in the treatment of CD8+ T cell‐mediated hypersensitivity reactions is noteworthy. SHED‐ApoVs are capable of fusing with the plasma membrane of CD8+ T cells, which subsequently triggers a series of events characterized by calcium overload ...
