Proposal for a Mesoscopic Optical Berry-Phase Interferometer

open access: yes, 2009
We propose a novel spin-optronic device based on the interference of polaritonic waves traveling in opposite directions and gaining topological Berry phase.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The Regulation Characteristics of Bridge Modular Switched-Capacitor Ac-Ac Converter

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The switched-capacitor (SC) converter has become a hot candidate to replace power electronics transformer (PET) in commercial and residential applications, especially in micro-grids. However, its poor regulation blocks it wide application.

Model predictive control for DAB under extended‐phase‐shift considering components uncertainty

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2023
For the dual active bridge (DAB) DC‐DC converters, parameter uncertainty (circuit parameters, input and/or load perturbations) affect their performance, such as the dynamic performance and backflow power.

Research on Reactive Power Optimization Control of a Series-Resonant Dual-Active-Bridge Converter

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
In order to meet the demands of the bidirectional transmission of electric vehicle charger power, a series-resonant dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter is investigated in this paper.

Testing Bell's inequality using Aharonov-Casher effect

open access: yes, 1998
We propose the Aharonov-Casher (AC) effect for four entangled spin-half particles carrying magnetic moments in the presence of impenetrable line charge. The four particle state undergoes AC phase shift in two causually disconnected region which can show ...

Effects of damping on the quantum limits to optical phase shifts in Kerr nonlinear media [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
It was recently shown [Phys. Rev. A 45, 1919 (1992)] that the phase shift induced by a control beam on a signal in cross Kerr modulation is limited by the quantum nature of the control.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Design considerations for high-power VHF radar transceivers: The Poker Flat MST radar phase control system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Sixty-four separate 50-kW peak-power transmitters are distributed throughout the 200 x 200 meter Poker Flat MST radar antenna array. The relative phase of each transmitter is automatically controlled by a 64-channel unit located in the main building at ...

Phase correction for Learning Feedforward Control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Intelligent mechatronics makes it possible to compensate for effects that are difficult to compensate for by construction or by linear control, by including some intelligence into the system. The compensation of state dependent effects, e.g.
