Ontology‐Aligned Structuring and Reuse of Multimodal Materials Data and Workflows Toward Automatic Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Reproduction of stacking fault energy calculations from literature with a semi‐automated large language model‐assisted extraction procedure: extraction of simulation protocol, atomistic structures, computational parameters, and reported results, ontology alignment, knowledge graph construction and, finally, recomputation forvalidation.

A phase ambiguity resolution technique for TCM

open access: yesMILCOM 92 Conference Record, 2003
The authors present the simulation model, performance evaluation, and hardware implementation of a technique to resolve phase ambiguity in trellis-coded modulation (TCM) where the popular Viterbi algorithm is utilized. While this approach has been used with BPSK (binary phase shift keying) and QPSK (quadrature phase shift keying), its application to ...

Microstructure Reconstruction in Battery Electrodes Using Machine Learning Based on Low‐Voltage Focused Ion Beam–Scanning Electron Microscopy Tomography Images

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

The Impacts of the Ionospheric Observable and Mathematical Model on the Global Ionosphere Model

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
A high-accuracy Global Ionosphere Model (GIM) is significant for precise positioning and navigating with the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), as well as space weather applications.

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Fourier Ambiguity Resolution for Carrier-Phase GNSS

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In this contribution, we introduce the concept of Fourier ambiguity resolution. We show how it is rooted in the principle of integer equivariant (IE) estimation and in its periodic representation.

Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

An Attitude Navigation System Based on the GPS [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2010
In this paper, the use of multi-GPS receiver to estimate the parameters ofattitude (orientation) of a platform is developed. The GPS receiver has twomeasurements; pseudorange and carrier phase.

Phase-Difference Ambiguity Resolution for a Single-Frequency Signal [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2008
In this letter, we propose a novel method to disambiguate the phase-difference of a single-frequency signal observed between a pair of spatially separated sensors, with inter-sensor spacing exceeding half the wavelength (lambda/2) of the signal. We mathematically prove that, in a noiseless case, the true phase-difference can unambiguously be estimated ...

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...
