Non-Intrusive Continuous Monitoring of Leaks for an In-Service Penstock

open access: yesSensors
In modern industries, pipelines play a crucial role, both as an essential element in energy transportation (water, gas and electricity) and also in the distribution of these resources. The large size of piping infrastructures, their age and unpredictable

Metallicity in a Holstein-Hubbard Chain at Half Filling with Gaussian Anharmonicity

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The Holstein-Hubbard model with Gaussian phonon anharmonicity is studied in one-dimension at half filling using a variational method based on a series of canonical transformations.

Effect of Alloying Compositions on the Stacking Fault Energy and Elasticity of FeNiCrAlCo and FeNiCrAlCu: A First-principles Study for Fe-based High Entropy Superalloy Design [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
High Entropy Superalloy (HESA) is a classification of materials with promising properties extensively developed to improve performance, resource sustainability, and cost efficiency in high-temperature applications. The need for computation on HESA is due

Equation of state and speed of sound of isospin-asymmetric QCD on the lattice

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We determine the QCD equation of state at nonzero temperature in the presence of an isospin asymmetry between the light quark chemical potentials on the lattice. Our simulations employ N f = 2 + 1 flavors of dynamical staggered quarks at physical masses,

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Multipartite entanglement serves as a faithful detector for quantum phase transitions

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
We investigate quantum phase transitions (QPTs) in various spin chain systems using the multipartite entanglement measure $\tau_\mathrm{SEF}$ based on the monogamy inequality of squared entanglement of formation (EOF). Our results demonstrate that $\tau_\

High Intensity Image Encryption Scheme Based on Quantum Logistic Chaotic Map and Complex Hyperchaotic System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, a novel encryption algorithm based on quantum chaotic map and four-wing complex system is proposed. Dynamical performances of the two system are revealed by phase portraits, Lyapunov exponent spectrum, bifurcation diagram analyses and ...

How large is "large $N_c$" for Nuclear matter?

open access: yes, 2010
We argue that a so far neglected dimensionless scale, the number of neighbors in a closely packed system, is relevant for the convergence of the large $N_c$ expansion at high chemical potential. It is only when the number of colors is large w.r.t.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...
