Continuous Charge Modulated Diagonal Phase in Manganites

open access: yes, 2003
We present a novel ground state that explain the continuous modulated charge diagonal order recently observed in manganese oxides, at hole densities $x$ larger than one half.

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Higher-resolution wavefront sensing based on sub-wavefront information extraction

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
The limited spatial sampling rates of conventional Shack–Hartmann wavefront sensors (SHWFSs) make them unable to sense higher-order wavefront distortion.

Large-scale spectral bandwidth compression by complex electro-optic temporal phase modulation

open access: yes, 2018
Spectral-temporal shaping of quantum light has important applications in quantum communications and photonic quantum information processing. Electro-optic temporal lenses have recently been recognized as a tool for noise-free, efficient spectral ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Instrumentation of a high-sensitivity microwave vector detection system for low-temperature applications

open access: yes, 2005
We present the design and the circuit details of a high-sensitivity microwave vector detection system, which is aiming for studying the low-dimensional electron system embedded in the slots of a coplanar waveguide at low temperatures.

Terahertz phase modulator

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2000
A semiconductor quantum device which enables the phase modulation of terahertz signals is described. Modulation-doped parabolic quantum wells enable the electronic control of dispersion at terahertz frequencies. Device characterisation with terahertz time-domain spectroscopy shows a phase modulation for frequencies up to 4 THz.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Numerical Analysis of Integrated Fabry–Perot Interferometers Based on Four Core Fiber With a Helical Phase Microdisk

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
The integrated Fabry-Perot (FP) interferometers structure based on four core fiber (FCF) and a helical phase-modulation microdisk (HPMD) structure is proposed.
