Variational models for phase separation
The paper is concerned with the asymptotic behaviour of a family of integral functionals connected with classical models for phase separation. Let \(W\) be a nonnegative, continuous, double well type energy density with minima located at \(u=0\) and \(u=1\), and with linear growth at infinity.

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Phase separation on ricinoleic acid freezing
Phase separation material essentially influence storage capacity or heat release. Ricinoleic acid is potential to be used as a heat storage material. However, the nature of the phase separation of the material has not been studied yet.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Phase separation of biomembrane-polyelectrolyte interaction system
This study models the regulatory process of biomacromolecular phase separation facilitated by biological membranes. Utilizing molecular dynamics simulations based on the coarse graining (CG) Martini force field, we investigate the phase separation of ...

Dynamics of phase separation from holography
We use holography to develop a physical picture of the real-time evolution of the spinodal instability of a four-dimensional, strongly-coupled gauge theory with a first-order, thermal phase transition.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Ubiquitination of secretory granules promotes their crinophagic degradation in Drosophila
Ubiquitination of secretory granules in Drosophila larval salivary glands is a critical molecular trigger for crinophagy, the lysosomal degradation of unreleased, or low‐quality granules. The E3 ubiquitin ligase Cnot4 is recruited to the surface of secretory granules to induce crinophagy.
