Squeezed states and path integrals [PDF]

open access: yes
The continuous-time regularization scheme for defining phase-space path integrals is briefly reviewed as a method to define a quantization procedure that is completely covariant under all smooth canonical coordinate transformations. As an illustration of

Exact Lyapunov exponents of the generalized Boole transformations

open access: yes, 2016
The generalized Boole transformations have rich behavior ranging from the \textit{mixing} phase with the Cauchy invariant measure to the \textit{dissipative} phase through the \textit{infinite ergodic} phase with the Lebesgue measure.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Twists, realizations and Hopf algebroid structure of kappa-deformed phase space

open access: yes, 2014
The quantum phase space described by Heisenberg algebra possesses undeformed Hopf algebroid structure. The $\kappa$-deformed phase space with noncommutative coordinates is realized in terms of undeformed quantum phase space.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Free energy functionals for efficient phase field crystal modeling of structural phase transformations

open access: yes, 2010
The phase field crystal (PFC) method has emerged as a promising technique for modeling materials with atomistic resolution on mesoscopic time scales. The approach is numerically much more efficient than classical density functional theory (CDFT), but its

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Effect of phase transformations on acoustic wave reflection from contaminated fog boundary

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2018
Acoustic wave reflection from a vapor-gas medium is of great relevance. This is mainly due to natural phenomena, such as a layer of fog and dusty gas in the atmosphere and atmospheric clouds. It is also possible to use gas-droplet mixtures (fogs) to hide
