Observations Concerning Rhizobium tropici Bacteroid Phosphorus Stress Response During Symbiosis With Phaseolus vulgaris. [PDF]
14CO2 and 32PO4 labelling of bean was used with Rhizobium tropici mutants. An alkaline phosphatase mutant was not affected for bacteroid P acquisition, though bacteroid and nodule 14C‐carbon uptake was altered. The high‐affinity P transporter mutant was defective in nodule P acquisition and symbiotic performance. Plant image by Brgfx/Freepik.

Genetic control of isozymes in the primary gene pool Phaseolus lunatus L. [PDF]
Suitable electrophoretic separation methods of 34 isozymes from 17 enzyme systems resolved in Phaseolus lunatus L. (Lima bean) were developed. Data from the migration of the staining zones indicated that three loci control EST, GPI, IDH and MDH ...

Contribution des ressources phytogénétiques à la sélection variétale de légumineuses alimentaires tropicales [PDF]
Contribution of plant genetic resources to varietal selection of tropical food legumes. Thanks to their high content of proteins in the dry seeds and to their ability to fix symbiotically the air nitrogen, the food legumes are a key component of the ...

The investigation of antinutritional factors in Phaseolus vulgaris. Environmental and varietal differences [PDF]
This study enables us to indicate that the oligosaccharide raffinose family, phytate, saponin and lectin contents of P. vulgaris are clearly influenced by both environmental and genetics factors.

Simulations of genomic selection implementation pathways in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) using parametric and nonparametric models. [PDF]
Abstract We conducted simulations of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) breeding programs to better understand the interplay between different choices a breeder must make when launching a genomic selection (GS) pipeline. We complement preceding studies on optimizing model parameters and training set makeup by exploring the practical implementation of ...
