A design approach for a low cost phasor measurement unit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) are playing more and more a crucial role for the development of the 'smartness' of power systems. In order to be efficiently used for the smart management of the power systems, a widespread diffusion of PMUs is a becoming ...

A portable system for phasor measurment units (PMU) calibration in high-voltage substations

open access: yesMeasurement: Sensors, 2021
This paper presents the advances in the development of a portable PMU standard for online calibration of PMUs installed in high voltage substations. This system is intended to be connected in parallel with the PMU under test, without disconnecting it from the network. Current and voltage sensors do not need to interrupt the service.

Thévenin Equivalent Parameter Adaptive Robust Estimation Considering the Erroneous Measurements of PMU

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Parameter estimation based on the measurement data of the phasor measurement unit (PMU) is an important approach for identifying the Thévenin equivalent parameters (TEPs) of power systems. However, in the process of acquiring or transmitting data in PMU,

Robust Identification Method for Transmission Line Parameters That Considers PMU Phase Angle Error

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Accurate transmission line parameters are the basis of power system calculations. The measured phasor measurement unit (PMU) phase angle data at both ends of a line may contain large errors caused by synchronization problems, which can seriously affect ...

A reliability‐based optimal μ‐PMU placement scheme for efficient observability enhancement of smart distribution grids under various contingencies

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement & Technology, 2021
A reliability‐based optimal μ‐PMU (micro‐phasor measurement unit) placement scheme is suggested for efficient observability enhancement of smart distribution grids at steady‐state and contingencies conditions.

Monolithic Oxidation Enables Ultrathin Vertically Graded Tantalum Oxide for Low‐Voltage, Low‐Variability Memristive Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Monolithic UV‐ozone oxidation of Ta forms an ultrathin Ta2O5/TaOx bilayer enabling resistive switching with a vertical defect gradient. A stoichiometric surface layer over an oxygen‐deficient sublayer promotes localized filament nucleation near the top interface, enabling low‐voltage operation, and reduced cycle‐to‐cycle variability.
