Shedding Light on Synthetic Autocatalysis: From Conventional Closed‐Shell Chemistries to Overlooked Open‐Shell Occurrences

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Why add another catalyst when the product itself holds the power to catalyze its own formation? Autocatalysis in synthetic chemistry enhances reaction efficiency and uncovers novel catalytic behavior across both closed‐shell and open‐shell systems, expanding reactivity and enabling innovative design strategies.

A Hypoxia‐Responsive Near‐Infrared Phosphorescence Nanoprobe for High‐Sensitive Detection of Tumor Cells and Imaging of Colorectal Cancer In Situ

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
We have successfully developed a hypoxia‐responsive near‐infrared phosphorescent probe, Ir‐PEG. This nanoprobe demonstrates high sensitivity, water solubility, and deep‐tissue penetration. It remains specifically activatable even in the hypoxic intestinal environment, facilitating high‐contrast imaging of orthotopic colon cancer.

Rapid Access to Emission‐Tunable Organelle‐Targeted Aggregation‐Induced Emission Luminogens Through One‐Pot Skeletal Editing

open access: yesTransformative Chemistry, Volume 1, Issue 1, December 2025.
Herein we report a skeletal editing strategy for rapidly transforming readily available isoquinolines into synthetically challenging (dihydrodibenzo[c,i]phenanthridin‐6‐yl)diphenylphosphine oxides (DHBPPO) derivatives. These DHBPPO derivatives exhibit tunable emission, aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) properties, organelle‐targeted specificity, and ...

Phenanthridine derivatives as potential HIV-1 protease inhibitors.

open access: yesBiomedical Reports, 2020
In the present study, the antiviral activity of phenanthridine derivatives was assessed. In total, the inhibitory effect of eight structurally similar low-molecular-weight hydrophobic compounds on HIV-1 protease (HIVp) was investigated.
