Ion‐Enriched Porous Organic Polymer for Gold Recovery From E‐Waste

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
A novel ion‐enriched porous organic polymer was designed and synthesized. It exhibits ultrahigh gold adsorption efficiency with capacity up to 1530.9 mg g−1, and also shows selective capture ability towards gold ions in the actual CPU leaching solution, demonstrating its promising potential for gold recovery from actual e‐waste.

Differential Regulation of the Phenazine Biosynthetic Operons by Quorum Sensing in Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1-N

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2018
The Pseudomonas aeruginosa quorum sensing (QS) network plays a key role in the adaptation to environmental changes and the control of virulence factor production in this opportunistic human pathogen. Three interlinked QS systems, namely las, rhl, and pqs,

Bacteria Are Beautiful [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
As a microbiologist, I'm appalled when I go to buy soap or dishwashing detergent, because these days it's very hard to find anything that doesn't say "antibacterial" on it. This is disturbing for a couple of reasons.

Identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa Phenazines that Kill Caenorhabditis elegans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Pathogenic microbes employ a variety of methods to overcome host defenses, including the production and dispersal of molecules that are toxic to their hosts.

Flexible white thermally activated delayed fluorescence polymer with alkyl spacer and side‐chain encapsulation for efficient solution‐processed white organic light‐emitting diodes

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
A “gemstone‐necklace” FASCE strategy synthesizes single‐component white polymers (PTF‐Qx) by alternating rigid TADF units with flexible alkyl chains. The non‐doped rigid device achieves a high EQE of 15.66% with stable white emission (CIE: 0.36, 0.46).

Promise for plant pest control: root-associated pseudomonads with insecticidal activities. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Insects are an important and probably the most challenging pest to control in agriculture, in particular when they feed on belowground parts of plants.

Functionally complementary bacterial inoculant coordinates arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi to improve Angelica sinensis root yield and quality

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Comprehensive understanding of how diverse PGPR strains enhance the rhizosphere microenvironment remains a considerable challenge. Here, we provide experimental evidence that a functionally synergistic composite microbial formulation can markedly enhance growth performance and improve the quality attributes in Angelica sinensis.

Molecular descriptor driven QSPR modeling of Papp, TEER and Efflux Ratio from Caco‐2 cells using machine learning for various phytochemicals

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND The present study aimed to develop and validate quantitative structure–property relationship (QSPR) models for predicting permeability related bioavailability indicators including apparent permeability (Papp), trans‐epithelial electrical resistance (TEER) and efflux ratio (ER) based on molecular descriptors (n = 5003) of 83 ...
