Phenazines and cancer

Natural Product Reports, 2012
Phenazines are a large group of natural and synthesised nitrogen-containing heterocycles, including more than 100 different compounds of natural origin and over 6000 synthetic compounds. Many of these compounds have been investigated as potential anti-cancer agents.

Phenazine-2,3-diamine

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2001
The planar electron-rich heterocyclic diamine 2,3-diaminophenazine (DAP), C12H10N4, is of particular interest to both chemists and biochemists because of its rich organic chemistry and intense luminescence. In this paper, we report the first structure of DAP in its non-protonated form and describe the intriguing crystal packing, which features pi-pi ...

Electro-Oxidative Synthesis of Phenazines

Organic Letters, 2023
We disclose herein electro-oxidative synthesis as the general protocol for procuring phenazines under mild reaction conditions. Using aerial oxygen as an oxidant, inexpensive electrolyte, and electrodes, a diverse range of phenazines have been accessed in good yields via the ring contraction of 10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[b,e][1,4]diazepines. In addition,

Hepatitis C viral IRES inhibition by phenazine and phenazine-like molecules

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2000
An in vitro assay based on the expression of Fluci reporter gene under the translational control of HCV IRES was used to evaluate and screen compound libraries. A structure-activity relationship study on a phenazine hit was conducted. Our data suggest that an intact phenazine or phenazine-like core with two distal polar substitutions is crucial for ...

Polarisation der Elektronenbanden von Aromaten 8. Mitteilung: Phenazin, Phenazin‐N‐oxid, Phenazin‐N,N′‐dioxid
