Phenobarbital influence on neuromuscular block produced by rocuronium in rats Influência do fenobarbital no bloqueio neuromuscular produzido pelo rocurônio em ratos

open access: yesActa Cirúrgica Brasileira, 2008
PURPOSE: To evaluate in vitro and in vivo neuromuscular blockade produced by rocuronium in rats treated with Phenobarbital and to determine cytochrome P450 and cytochrome b5 concentrations in hepatic microsomes.

Paracrine Factor Local Gradient‐Generating System for Engineering Perfusable Vascularized Hepatocyte Tissues with Perfusion‐Induced Proliferation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A paracrine factor local gradient (PFLG)‐generating system enables microvessel penetration across 3D hepatocyte tissues. The resulting vascularized constructs recapitulate hepatic sinusoidal hepatocyte—endothelial contact architecture and enhance hepatic functions in vitro.

Copolymers of Poly(Butylene Trans‐1,4‐Cyclohexanedicarboxylate)/Pripol as New Biomaterial Platform for Small Diameter Vascular Graft

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospun tubular scaffolds from novel PBCE‐based copolyesters and blends were designed as candidates for small‐diameter vascular grafts. They combine defect‐free architecture, blood‐compatible surfaces, and mechanical properties comparable to native vessels.

Bioengineered 3D hPSC‐Cholangiocyte Ducts With Physiological Signals for Biliary Disease Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Tian and colleagues generated a bioengineered bile duct from human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC)‐derived intrahepatic cholangiocytes within a high‐throughput, 384‐well platform to systematically examine the influence of biliary physiological signals including fluid flow, stromal cells and bile acids, and models intrahepatic biliary disease progression ...

Prolonged jaundice in newborns is a common condition that affects many infants: A case study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nursing Reports in Clinical Practice
This study aimed to evaluate prolonged jaundice in a newborn. A 30-day-old infant (male) with a bilirubin level of 8 mg/dL at birth, which increased to 11.0 mg/dL on day 10, was treated with phenobarbital. By day 29, the bilirubin level had risen to 11.3
