cd1 Mutation in Drosophila Affects Phenoxazinone Synthase Catalytic Site and Impairs Long-Term Memory. [PDF]
Being involved in development of Huntington’s, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, kynurenine pathway (KP) of tryptophan metabolism plays a significant role in modulation of neuropathology. Accumulation of a prooxidant 3-hydroxykynurenine (3-HOK) leads to oxidative stress and neuronal cell apoptosis. Drosophila mutant cardinal (cd1) with 3-HOK excess

Phenoxazinone synthase from Streptomyces antibioticus: Purification of the large and small enzyme forms [PDF]
Abstract Phenoxazinone synthase has been purified approximately 80-fold from 48-h-old cells of Streptomyces antibioticus. The purification procedure involves streptomycin sulfate and ammonium sulfate precipitations, affinity and Bio-Gel chromatography, and glycerol gradient centrifugation.

Molecular cloning and in vitro expression of a silent phenoxazinone synthase gene from Streptomyces lividans [PDF]
Phenoxazinone synthase (PHS) catalyzes a step in actinomycin D biosynthesis in Streptomyces antibioticus. Two sequences from Streptomyces lividans that hybridize to the phs gene of S. antibioticus have been cloned in Escherichia coli K-12 using the plasmid pBR322.

Two mononuclear cobalt(III) complexes exhibiting phenoxazinone synthase activity
Two mononuclear cobalt(III) complexes, namely [LCo(tmtp)(H2O)]ClO4⋅MeOH (1) (tmtp = tri(m‐tolyl)phosphine) and [LCo(PPh3)(H2O)]PF6 (2), have been prepared from a polydentate ligand, N,N′‐bis(3‐methoxysalicylidehydene)cyclohexane‐1,2‐diamine (H2L). Standard analytical techniques such as elemental analysis and UV–visible and Fourier transform infrared ...

Preparation and characterization of a highly stable phenoxazinone synthase nanogel. [PDF]
Phenoxazinone synthase (PHS) is a laccase-like multicopper oxidase originating from Streptomyces with great industrial application potential. In this paper, we prepared the PHS nanogel retaining 82 % of its initial activity by aqueous in situ polymerization at pH 9.3.The average diameter of the PHS nanogel was 50.8 nm based on dynamic light scattering (

Regulation of phenoxazinone synthase expression in Streptomyces antibioticus. [PDF]
The cloned gene for the subunit of phenoxazinone synthase (PHS), an enzyme implicated in the biosynthesis of actinomycin in Streptomyces antibioticus, was used as a probe to study the regulation of the enzyme. The direction of transcription of the PHS gene was determined with end-labeled restriction fragments derived from the gene.

Actinomycin production persists in a strain of Streptomyces antibioticus lacking phenoxazinone synthase. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Truncated fragments of the phenoxazinone synthase gene, phsA , were prepared by the PCR. The resulting fragments were cloned into conjugative plasmid pKC1132 and transferred to Streptomyces antibioticus by conjugation from Escherichia coli .
