Ethylene-induced Phenylalanine Ammonia-Lyase Activity in Carrot Roots [PDF]
Ethylene enhanced the activity of phenylalanine ammonialyase in carrot (Daucus carota L., var. "Nauty") root tissue. Slight increase in enzyme activity was exhibited by root discs incubated in ethylene-free air. It was probably due to the ethylene formed within the sliced tissue.

ABSTRACT Transient expression of exogenous protein in Nicotiana benthamiana leaves via agroinfiltration offers a rapid and efficient platform for functional gene discovery and heterologous production of valuable eukaryotic proteins and metabolites. Though light quality is an important factor for plant photomorphogenesis, its impact on the efficiency of

ABSTRACT Seed defence priming is emerging as a novel, cost‐efficient and environmentally safe tool for pest management. It has been proposed as a means to uncouple the defence‐growth trade‐off in plants by enhancing defence responses with minimal fitness costs, but the mechanisms underlying this role remain elusive.

ABSTRACT Plant viruses cause significant crop losses, a situation that could worsen due to anthropogenic activities driving global climate change, one factor of which is the increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration. This study assessed the impact of elevated CO2 concentration (eCO2, 1000 vs. 400 ppm) on two genotypes of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris
