Enzyme from Soil Bacterium Hydrolyzes Phenylcarbamate Herbicides
Science, 1965An enzyme preparation from Pseudomonas sp., isolated from a soil culture by an enrichment technique, liberated 3-chloroaniline from the herbicide isopropyl N -(3-chlorophenyl) carbamate. Aniline, 3-chloroaniline, and 3,4-dichloroaniline were detected when the enzyme preparation was incubated ...

[Antimycobacterial effects of pyrrolidinoethylester alkoxysubstituted phenylcarbamic acids].
Ceska a Slovenska farmacie : casopis Ceske farmaceuticke spolecnosti a Slovenske farmaceuticke spolecnosti, 2002Pyrrolidinoethylesters of alkoxysubstituted phenylcarbamic acids, formerly investigated for local anaesthetic activity, can be considered to be potential antituberculotics. They are effective in vitro against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium kansasii, and Mycobacterium avium.

Inhibition of Growth of Apical Meristems by Ethyl Phenylcarbamate
Nature, 1950Templeman and Sexton1 were the first to show that ethyl and isopropyl phenylcarbamates were selectively toxic to higher plants and therefore potentially valuable as herbicides. Since then, Ennis2, Ivens and Blackman3 and Doxey4 have reported on the mitotic effects induced by these compounds.

Molecular Structure and Liquid-Crystalline Characteristics of Chitosan Phenylcarbamate
Biomacromolecules, 2008Chitosan phenylcarbamate (CtsPC) samples were synthesized to have different degrees of substitution (DS) ranging from approximately 2.7 to approximately 3.7, and the lyotropic liquid crystallinity was mainly characterized by spectrophotometry. The products of DS>2.8 formed a cholesteric type of mesophase in concentrated solutions of >44 wt % with polar

Chromosome Contraction byo-Isopropyl-N-Phenylcarbamate (IPC)
Stain Technology, 1967A selective herbicide IPC (o-isopropyl-N-phenlycarbamate) causes contraction of chromosomes in the prophase, metaphase, and anaphase stages of mitosis in cells of treated root tips. Effective concentrations in aqueous solution lie between 2.5 and 50 ppm, and effective times between 1 and 4 hr, depending upon the species of plant.

Acid catalysed condensation of methyl N-phenylcarbamate
Applied Catalysis, 1990Abstract The condensation of methyl N-phenylcarbamate with formaldehyde to methylene diphenyl diurethane has been studied in the presence of various liquid and solid acid catalysts in a batch reactor. The 50% sulphuric acid and Amberlyst 15 were found to be the best liquid and solid catalysts, respectively.

Antimycobacterial activity of piperidinylpropyl esters of alkoxy-substituted phenylcarbamic acids
Folia Microbiologica, 2003A series of 17 hydrochlorides of piperidinylpropyl esters of alkoxy-substituted phenylcarbamic acids with the alkoxy group in position 2, 3 or 4 on the phenyl ring, and basic substituents attached to the moiety in position 3, were evaluated for in vitro antimycobacterial activity against the strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, M.
