Modified tannin extracted from black wattle tree as an environmentally friendly antifouling pigment [PDF]
The use of modified black wattle tannin as an antifouling pigment is reported in this work. A mixture of tannin adsorbed in activated carbon (soluble fraction of tannin) and low soluble fraction of tannin was used as an antifouling pigment.

Water deficit is a major abiotic stress that limits plant growth and productivity. This article evaluates the effectiveness of an aqueous seaweed extract (ASE) from Sargassum muticum as an ecofriendly biostimulant to alleviate water deficit stress during seed germination and early seedling growth of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.).

ABSTRACT Seaweed gained a great deal of interest in recent years as a valuable source in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. Efficient economic utilization of seaweed depends on the techniques employed to remove their high moisture content (MC). This study proposes a novel continuous drying technique for Fucus vesiculosus seaweed biomass using twin ...

Slow-Binding Inhibition of Tyrosinase by Ecklonia cava Phlorotannins [PDF]
Tyrosinase inhibitors improve skin whitening by inhibiting the formation of melanin precursors in the skin. The inhibitory activity of seven phlorotannins (1–7), triphlorethol A (1), eckol (2), 2-phloroeckol (3), phlorofucofuroeckol A (4), 2-O-(2,4,6-trihydroxyphenyl)-6,6′-bieckol (5), 6,8′-bieckol (6), and 8,8′-bieckol (7), from Ecklonia cava was ...
