Eperua oleifera Ducke (Fabaceae) Oilresin Chemical Composition and the Isolation of a Natural Diterpenic Acid Methyl Ester

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 22, Issue 12, December 2025.
Eperua oleifera (Fabaceae) oilresin presents not only diterpenic acids, but also diterpenic acid methyl ester. ABSTRACT Eperua oleifera Ducke, commonly known as “copaíba‐jacaré,” produces oilresins traditionally used in folk medicine for wound healing and as antifungal and antibacterial agents, similar to those of Copaifera species.

Cannabinoids From Trema micranthum (L.) Blume (Cannabaceae): A Cannabinoid Profiling System

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 22, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Trema micranthum (L.) Blume is a species from the Cannabaceae botanical family, present all over the tropics. A recent study conducted by our group identified the presence of cannabidiol (CBD), Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabidiolic acid, and tetrahydrocannabinolic acid‐A in T. micranthum extracts.

Photocatalytic Seawater Splitting by Earth‐Abundant Catalysts: Metal‐Semiconductor Metamaterials Made of Plasmonic Magnesium Diboride and Transitional Metal Dichalcogenides

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 30, Issue 71, December 18, 2024.
Novel photocatalysts for efficient seawater splitting made from metal‐semiconductor hybrid metamaterials are studied in this work. The Earth‐abundant metal MgB2 is employed as main photocatalyst and the TMDs as the co‐catalyst, among which MgB2/WS2 shows the largest enhancement of seawater splitting compared to the separate elements.

Memristors Based on Ni(II)‐tetraaza[14]annulene Complexes: Toward an Unconventional Resistive Switching Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 10, Issue 12, December 2024.
A family of Ni‐based dibenzotetraaza[14]annulene complexes is investigated for application in memristors (memory resistors). Two‐terminal thin‐film planar devices showed hysteretic behavior with stable, robust, and reproducible switching between high‐ and low‐resistive states. An in‐depth spectroscopic characterization of the studied materials resulted
