Phosphatidic Acid Phosphatases in Seed Plants [PDF]
Phosphatidic acid phosphatase (PAP) dephosphorylates phosphatidic acid (PA) to yield diacylglycerol (DAG) and inorganic phosphate (Pi). In seed plants, PAP functions both as a crucial enzyme for membrane lipid biosynthesis and an attenuator for PA signal.

The effect of cardiotoxin IIa from Naja mossambica mossambica, a small basic protein extracted from snake venom, on dimyristoylphosphatidic acid (DMPA) and on equimolar mixtures of DMPA and dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (DMPC) has been studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.

Phase Behavior of Phosphatidic Acid
1991Phosphatidic acids have a propensity for forming smectic (lamellar) phases. Under physiological conditions phosphatidic acids bear one negative charge/molecule and phosphatidate bilayers swell continuously with increasing water content similar to other negatively charged lipid bilayers.

Enzymatic synthesis of lysophosphatidic acid and phosphatidic acid
Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 1999Immobilised 1,3-specific lipase from Rhizopus arrhizus was used as catalyst for the esterification of dl-glycero-3-phosphate and fatty acid or fatty acid vinyl ester in a solvent-free system. With lauric acid vinyl ester as acyl donor, a(w) 95%). With oleic acid, maximum conversions of 55% were obtained at low water activities.
