Pulmonary phosphatidic acid phosphatase. A comparative study of the aqueously dispersed phosphatidate-dependent and membrane-bound phosphatidate-dependent phosphatidic acid phosphatase activities of rat lung

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1979
1. The properties of the aqueously dispersed phosphatidate-dependent phosphatidic acid phosphatase (EC 3.1.3.4) activities of rat lung have been studied in microsomal and cytosol preparations and compared with the properties of the membrane-bound phosphatidate-dependent activities. 2.

Phosphatidic acids and derivatives: V) Synthesis of bisglycol‐phosphatidic acids, starting from monoacylglycols

Recueil des Travaux Chimiques des Pays-Bas, 1954
AbstractThe preparation and some properties of three bisglycol‐phosphatidic acids, containing stearic, palmitic or myristic acid as component acid, are described.

Regulation of phosphatidic acid phosphohydrolase 1 by fatty acids

Lipids, 2002
AbstractIn the starved state and during metabolic stress, free fatty acids (FFA) are the principal hepatic energy supply, undergoing β‐oxidation. Accordingly, it appears paradoxical that H‐A have been reported to increase the liver's esterification capacity by translocating the rate‐limiting enzyme phosphatidic acid phosphohydrolase (PAP‐1) from the ...

Metabolism of Phosphatidic Acid

1983
In the first edition of the Handbook of Neurochemistry, Rossiter and Strickland1 reviewed the metabolism of phosphatidic acid in relation to the overall metabolism of phosphoglycerides, and Hawthorne and Kai2 described the metabolic relationship between phosphatidic acid and phosphoinositides.

Phase Behavior of Phosphatidic Acid

1991
Phosphatidic acids have a propensity for forming smectic (lamellar) phases. Under physiological conditions phosphatidic acids bear one negative charge/molecule and phosphatidate bilayers swell continuously with increasing water content similar to other negatively charged lipid bilayers.

Assaying Plant Phosphatidic Acid Phosphatase Activity

2013
Phosphatidic acid phosphatase (PAP; EC 3.1.3.4) catalyzes the dephosphorylation of phosphatidic acid (PA) to produce diacylglycerol (DAG) and inorganic phosphate. In seed plants, PA plays pivotal roles both as a precursor to membrane lipids and as a signaling molecule.
