Role and Mechanisms of the mTOR Signalling Pathway in the Synthesis of Milk Components

open access: yesModern Agriculture, Volume 3, Issue 1, June 2025.
The regulatory network system of mTOR regulates lactose, milk fat, and milk protein. Milk is urgently needed for the strong development of the dairy industry to meet the growing demand and ensure that the nutritional needs of the world's population are met.

Defining short linear motif binding determinants by phage display‐based deep mutational scanning

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 34, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract Deep mutational scanning (DMS) has emerged as a powerful approach for evaluating the effects of mutations on binding or function. Here, we developed a DMS by phage display protocol to define the specificity determinants of short linear motifs (SLiMs) binding to peptide‐binding domains.

VCP Promotes Cholangiocarcinoma Development by Mediating BAP1 Ubiquitination‐Dependent Degradation

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 116, Issue 6, Page 1579-1591, June 2025.
It demonstrates the tumor‐suppressive roles of BAP1 in CCA: BAP1 significantly inhibits CCA cell proliferation and tumor progression. It identifies VCP as a key upstream regulator mediating BAP1 homeostasis: VCP binds to BAP1 and promotes the latter's ubiquitination degradation via the ubiquitin‐proteasome pathway.

Global identification of key genes for pollen germination in rice through high‐throughput screening and gene editing

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 67, Issue 6, Page 1665-1684, June 2025.
A systematic examination of 107 T‐DNA insertional lines targeting 105 genes preferentially expressed in late pollen development identified 42 lines exhibiting significant deviations from expected Mendelian segregation ratios, suggesting a potential involvement in pollen viability and germination.
