MALDI imaging MS of phospholipids in the mouse lung[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2011
Lipid mediators are important in lung biochemistry and are derived from the enzymatic oxidation of arachidonic and docosahexaenoic acids, which are PUFAs that are present in phospholipids in cell membranes.

Optimized Birch Bark Extract-Loaded Colloidal Dispersion Using Hydrogenated Phospholipids as Stabilizer

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2020
This study investigated the formulation and processing of aqueous colloidal dispersions containing a birch bark dry extract (TE) as the active substance and hydrogenated phospholipids (Phospholipon 90H) as stabilizer, which can be used in the preparation

The use of phospholipids as excipients in the developement of formulations for inhalation

open access: yes, 2011
As one of the principal constituent of pulmonary surfactant, phospholipids are expected to be well-tolerated after inhalation. This low toxicity potential coupled with their attractive physicochemical properties lead our research group to use them as ...

Putting the 'P' into Phospholipids

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2011
Despite almost hundred years of dedicated research, the synthesis of phospholipids remains a challenge. Here, we briefly review important trends and point out possible future directions that might lead to interesting new probes for the membrane environment. An improved liposome purification and concentration protocol rounds up the article.

One‐Step Microfluidic Manufactured Fucose‐Decorated Sweetosomes Choose the Time and the Road for Their Intracellular Journey to Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Sweetosomes, a new class of fucose‐decorated liposomes, are developed via a one‐step microfluidic process without surface chemistry. This study elucidates their main caveolae‐mediated entry and distinct endosomal trafficking. These nanostructures demonstrate superior endosomal escape, organelle acidity modulation, and prolonged plasma persistence ...

Quantitative analysis of phospholipids by 31P-NMR.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1988
High-field 31P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy was used to quantitate phospholipids in mixtures in organic solvents. The sample is dissolved in chloroform-methanol and analyzed at 161.7 MHz with decoupling of the protons.

Long‐Term Hydrophilic, Anti‐Clotting, and Anti‐Fibrotic Dynamic Covalent Silicone‐Based Biomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic covalent crosslinking of a Schiff‐base silicone elastomer with hydrazide‐functionalized polymers is demonstrated to improve the long‐term hydrophilicity as well as the anti‐fouling and anti‐clotting properties of PDMS implants. The hydrazone‐functionalized material prevents hydrophobic recovery, resists clotting, and significantly reduces ...

Studies on phospholipids of meat

open access: yesNihon Chikusan Gakkaiho, 1966
