Quantitative Mapping of Liver Hypoxia in Living Mice Using Time‐Resolved Wide‐Field Phosphorescence Lifetime Imaging [PDF]
Hypoxia has been identified to contribute the pathogenesis of a wide range of liver diseases, and therefore, quantitative mapping of liver hypoxia is important for providing critical information in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatic diseases. However,

Visualization of oxygen profile in reconstructed human epidermis by phosphorescence-lifetime imaging microscopy using Ir(III) complex [PDF]
Reconstructed human epidermis (RHE) is a useful experimental tool for evaluating the effects of various stimuli on the skin. Here, we present a method to visualize the partial pressure of oxygen in RHE with cellular-level spatial resolution by means of ...

Outer retinal oxygen consumption of rat by phosphorescence lifetime imaging. [PDF]
Since the metabolic function of the retinal tissue is altered due to physiologic changes or disease, measurements of outer retinal oxygen consumption (Q(OR)) may be beneficial in assessment of retinal status. The purpose of this study was to report measurements of Q(OR) in rats using a phosphorescence lifetime imaging technique.Phosphorescence lifetime

Oxygen distribution and vascular injury in the mouse eye measured by phosphorescence-lifetime imaging [PDF]
Maps of the oxygen distribution in the retina of the mouse eye were obtained by phosphorescence-lifetime imaging. Phosphor dissolved in the blood was excited by modulated light and phosphorescence imaged through microscope optics with an intensified-CCD camera. Phosphorescence lifetimes and oxygen pressures were calculated for each pixel of the images.

High-Speed, Pixel-Super-resolved Compressive Second Near-Infrared Fluorescence In Vivo Imaging [PDF]
Conventional second near-infrared (NIR-II; 1,000 to 1,700 nm) fluorescence imaging cannot simultaneously achieve a high signal-to-noise ratio and motion-artifact-free capture of rapid physiological dynamics.

Oxygen depletion in biomolecular condensates is dominated by macromolecular density [PDF]
Biomolecular condensates are dynamic cellular compartments formed by the self-assembly of proteins and nucleic acids. Many metabolites partition into condensates based on their interactions with the macromolecular constituents; yet, whether gases behave ...

Hybrid Oxygen-Sensing Bio-Scaffolds for 3D Micro-Tissue Models [PDF]
Culturing cells and micro-tissue samples in 3D bio-scaffolding structures is gaining popularity; however, precise control of tissue micro-environment in such systems remains challenging. We describe a family of new hybrid bio-scaffolds with 3D O2-sensing
