Pressure-induced superconductivity in the van der Waals semiconductor violet phosphorus [PDF]
The van der Waals (vdW) semiconductor black phosphorus has been widely studied, especially after the discovery of phosphorene. On the contrary, its sister compound violet phosphorus, also a vdW semiconductor, has been rarely studied. Here we report the pressure-induced superconductivity in violet phosphorus up to $\sim$40 GPa.

Black phosphorus as saturable absorber for the Q-switched Er:ZBLAN fiber laser at 2.8 μm [PDF]
Black phosphorus, a newly emerged two-dimensional material, has attracted wide attention as novel photonic material. Here, multi-layer black phosphorus is successfully fabricated by liquid phase exfoliation method. By employing black phosphorus as saturable absorber, we demonstrate a passively Q-switched Er-doped ZBLAN fiber laser at the wavelength of ...

Enhancing Phosphorus Uptake in Sugarcane: A Critical Evaluation of Humic Acid and Phosphorus Fertilizers Effectiveness [PDF]
Our research conducted in an area characterized by alkaline, lime-abundant soils investigated the potential of utilizing phosphorus fertilizer and humic acid to enhance phosphorus absorption in sugarcane crops. The results indicated that the application of phosphorus fertilizer significantly increased the total and bioavailable phosphorus in the ...

Quantum Transport in Ambipolar Few-layer Black Phosphorus [PDF]
Few-layer black phosphorus possesses unique electronic properties giving rise to distinct quantum phenomena and thus offers a fertile platform to explore the emergent correlation phenomena in low dimensions. A great progress has been demonstrated in improving the quality of hole-doped few-layer black phosphorus and its quantum transport studies ...

Isotropic charge screening of the anisotropic black phosphorus revealed by potassium adatoms [PDF]
Black phosphorus has attracted great research interest due to its numerous applications in electronic devices, optoelectronic devices, energy storages and so on. Compared with the majority of two-dimensional materials, black phosphorus possesses a unique property, i.e. the strong in-plane anisotropy.

Measurement of spin-flip probabilities for ultracold neutrons interacting with nickel phosphorus coated surfaces [PDF]
We report a measurement of the spin-flip probabilities for ultracold neutrons interacting with surfaces coated with nickel phosphorus. For 50~$\mu$m thick nickel phosphorus coated on stainless steel, the spin-flip probability per bounce was found to be $\beta_{\rm NiP\;on\;SS} = (3.3^{+1.8}_{-5.6}) \times 10^{-6}$. For 50~$\mu$m thick nickel phosphorus
