Glucopyranosylidene-Spiro-Thiazolinones: Synthetic Studies and Determination of Absolute Configuration by TDDFT-ECD Calculations [PDF]
Reactions of O-peracylated C-(1-bromo-β-d-glucopyranosyl)formamides with thioamides furnished the corresponding glucopyranosylidene-spiro-thiazolin-4-one.

Proteome Analysis of Corynebacterium diphtheriae–Macrophage Interaction
ABSTRACT Contact of Corynebacterium diphtheriae with macrophages induces adaptations on both bacterial and cellular sides. The study presented here was aiming to shed light on the simultaneous intracellular adaptation of the bacteria and changes in the proteome of the phagocytes in response to the internalization of C. diphtheriae.

Role of Glycoside Phosphorylases in Mannose Foraging by Human Gut Bacteria*
Background: The relations between the gut microbiota, food, and host play a crucial role in human health. Results: Prevalent bacterial glycoside phosphorylases are able to break down dietary carbohydrates and the N-glycans lining the intestinal ...

Purine Molecular Interactions Determine Anisotropic Shape of Zebrafish Biogenic Crystals
Many organisms self‐organize crystals for vision, pigmentation, or storage. In zebrafish, iridophores produce anisotropic crystals in iridosomes. Using imaging and genetic tools, crystal growth is shown to favor the b‐axis, shaped by guanine‐to‐hypoxanthine ratios and hydrogen bonding resulting thereof.

NTRC Plays a Crucial Role in Starch Metabolism, Redox Balance, and Tomato Fruit Growth [PDF]
NADPH-thioredoxin reductase C (NTRC) forms a separate thiol-reduction cascade in plastids, combining both NADPHthioredoxin reductase and thioredoxin activities on a single polypeptide.
