Perspective: Hollow Core Optical Fibres for Ultraviolet and Visible Wavelengths

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hollow core optical fibres bypass material constraints that limit optical fibres at ultraviolet and visible wavelengths. However, their challenging fabrication has limited their development, and significant gains in performance remain possible. In this perspective we outline approaches to enable the next generation of fibres for shorter wavelengths ...

A Scalable Method for Cavity‐Enhanced Solid‐State Quantum Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photoluminescent color centres in diamond and hexagon boron nitride are powerful nanoscale solid‐state quantum sensors. Methods for integrating them into macroscopic structures that improve their sensitivity are highly sought after. This study demonstrates a low‐cost and scalable method for the fabrication of quantum sensor‐doped thin‐film cavities ...

Defect‐Free Sb‐Doping in Bi2O2Se Achieves Two‐Order‐of‐Magnitude Reduction in Saturation Intensity While Preserving High Carrier Mobility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates defect‐free states Sb3⁺ doping in Bi2O2Se, enhancing carrier mobility while reducing saturation intensity by about two orders of magnitude. First‐principles calculations and experiments reveal optimized electronic structure and improved nonlinear response.
