Inhibition of RNase to Attenuate Fungal‐Manipulated Rhizosphere Microbiome and Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fusarium graminearum uses its virulence effector Fg12, a fungal RNase, to manipulate the host rhizosphere microbiome and promote infection. Guanosine monophosphate (GMP) blocks Fg12's RNase activity. This reveals a key pathogen‐microbiota interaction mechanism and proposes GMP as a targeted strategy to disarm this core fungal effector, offering a ...

Estimating the Current Routes of Transmission in HIV-1 F1 Subtype Infected Persons in Romania: Differences Between Self-Reporting and Phylogenetic Data

open access: yesPathogens
Monitoring the HIV epidemic in Romania has proven challenging due to many factors, including the reluctance of newly diagnosed patients to disclose relevant epidemiological aspects during the clinical interview, such as sexual orientation or the ...

Phylogenetic lineages in the Capnodiales

open access: yesStudies in Mycology, 2009
The Capnodiales incorporates plant and human pathogens, endophytes, saprobes and epiphytes, with a wide range of nutritional modes. Several species are lichenised, or occur as parasites on fungi, or animals. The aim of the present study was to use DNA sequence data of the nuclear ribosomal small and large subunit RNA genes to test the monophyly of the ...

Toward a Species Search Engine: KISSE Offers a Rigorous Statistical Framework for Bone Collagen Tandem Mass Spectrometry Data

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Species Search Engine (KISSE) is a novel statistical approach for identifying species from collagen peptides, using a curated library of sequences and their relative abundances derived from shotgun proteomics. Abstract DNA and bone collagen are two key sources of resilient molecular markers used to identify species from their remains.

Covalent Organic Frameworks‐Delivered Reuterin Drives Trained Immunity in Tumor‐Associated Macrophages to Enhance Melanoma Immunotherapy via Glycerophospholipid Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Covalent organic framework (COF)‐reuterin induces trained immunity in tumor‐associated macrophages, promoting the generation of nitric oxide and reactive oxygen species, thereby enhancing the antitumor immune response. Additionally, COF‐Reuterin directly kills tumor cells while simultaneously eradicating pathogenic intratumoural bacteria.

Chloroplast Genome Sequence of Artemisia scoparia: Comparative Analyses and Screening of Mutational Hotspots

open access: yesPlants, 2019
Artemisia L. is among the most diverse and medicinally important genera of the plant family Asteraceae. Discrepancies arise in the taxonomic classification of Artemisia due to the occurrence of multiple polyploidy events in separate lineages and its ...

GmSop20 Functions as a Key Coordinator of the Oil‐To‐Protein Ratio in Soybean Seeds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the seed oil‐to‐protein ratio as a comprehensive quality metric and identifies GmSop20 as a crucial regulatory gene through forward genetics methodologies. By integrating GmSop20 with superior haplotypes and using gene editing/overexpression, new strategies are provided for precisely tuning the seed oil‐to‐protein ratio, thereby
