Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Physical and 3D numerical modelling of reinforcements pullout test

open access: yesScientific Reports
AbstractThis paper reports results of laboratory and 3D numerical modeled pull-out tests with steel ladders and polymeric strip reinforcements. These types of reinforcement are commonly used in reinforced soil walls constructed with concrete facing elements.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Physical Model of Rainfall Induced Landslide in Flume Test: Preliminary Results

open access: yes, 2020
Physical modelling of landslides using scaled landslide models behavior began in 1970s in Japan at a scaled natural slope physical model. The laboratory experiments of landslide behavior in a scaled physical model (also called flume or flume test ...

A central limit theorem for sums of functions of residuals in a high-dimensional regression model with an application to variance homoscedasticity test

open access: yes, 2017
We establish a joint central limit theorem for sums of squares and the fourth powers of residuals in a high-dimensional regression model. We then apply this CLT to detect the existence of heteroscedasticity for linear regression models without assuming ...

Test of a cubic spline interface for physical processes with a 1-D third-order spectral element model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A common way to introduce physical processes into numerical models of the atmosphere is to call the parameterization at every grid point. This can lead to considerable errors.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Experimentally Based Model to Size the Geometry of a New OWC Device, with Reference to the Mediterranean Sea Wave Environment

open access: yesEnergies, 2013
This note presents the Seabreath wave energy converter, basically a multi-chamber floating oscillating water column device, and the lumped model used to size its chambers, the ducts and the turbine.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Failure Mechanism of Sandy Soil Slopes Under High-Angle Normal Bedrock-Fault Dislocation: Physical Model Tests

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Bedrock fault dislocation is a crucial structural factor influencing landslide movement. Accurately predicting the location and scale of rupture zones within a slope body is essential for effective slope construction design and risk mitigation.
