Histological Evaluation of Pancreas Following Early Life Stress in Exposure to Pubertal Stress in Male Rats

open access: yesJournal of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, 2020
Background and purpose: Stressful events in early-life induce metabolic disorders in adolescence. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of early-life stress on number or area of Langerhans islets in exposure to foot-shock and psychological ...

Canonical Quantization of the Electromagnetic Field on the Kerr Background

open access: yes, 2005
We investigate the canonical quantization of the electromagnetic field on the Kerr background. We give new expressions for the expectation value of the electromagnetic stress-energy tensor in various vacua states and give a physical interpretation of the

Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Calorie restriction regime enhances physical performance of trained athletes

open access: yesJournal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, 2018
Background Caloric restriction induces mitochondrial biogenesis and improves physical fitness in rodents. We aimed to provide evidence of how caloric restriction affects the body composition and physical performance of trained athletes and to evaluate ...

Scalable Overlay Multicast Tree Construction for QoS-Constrained Media Streaming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Overlay networks have become popular in recent times for content distribution and end-system multicasting of media streams. In the latter case, the motivation is based on the lack of widespread deployment of IP multicast and the ability to perform end ...

Anchorage‐independent and faster growth in clonal population from UV‐irradiated NER‐deficient cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UV‐irradiated cells expressing a DDB2 mutant protein unable to interact with PCNA (DDB2PCNA‐) form clones able to grow without anchorage. Different experimental approaches reveal heterogeneity in cell cycle regulation and drug response within these clones, emphasizing the crucial role of the DDB2‐PCNA interaction in preventing cellular transformation ...

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Physical training in patients with chronic heart failure

open access: yesКардиоваскулярная терапия и профилактика, 2009
Chronic heart failure (CHF) manifests in heart insufficiency and inadequate blood flow in various organs and tissues. One of the most important CHF symptoms is reduced physical stress (PS) tolerability, due to impaired central hemodynamics and various ...

Long Limb Bones Asymmetry in the Ancient Population of the Volga-Ural Steppe (Neolithic – Middle Ages)

open access: yesНижневолжский археологический вестник
The work is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of directional bilateral asymmetry of long limb bones in the population of the Volga-Ural steppe on the basis of osteometric data from the Neolithic/Eneolithic, Early and Late Bronze, Early Iron Age, and
