GPR68 Senses Flow and Is Essential for Vascular Physiology [PDF]
Mechanotransduction plays a crucial role in vascular biology. One example of this is the local regulation of vascular resistance via flow-mediated dilation (FMD). Impairment of this process is a hallmark of endothelial dysfunction and a precursor to a wide array of vascular diseases, such as hypertension and atherosclerosis.

Fluid flow to mimic organ function in 3D in vitro models
Many different strategies can be found in the literature to model organ physiology, tissue functionality, and disease in vitro; however, most of these models lack the physiological fluid dynamics present in vivo.

THE PHYSIOLOGICAL VARIATIONS IN RESISTANCE TO BILE FLOW TO THE INTESTINE [PDF]
Under specially controlled conditions in the healthy unanesthetized dog we have measured the resistance offered to the flow of bile through the lower common duct. The average resistance 4 to 12 hours after a feeding was found to correspond to the pressure of a column of bile 100 to 120 mm. in height.

Rotary Blood Pump (RBP) is a commonly used ventricular assist device. However, the constant speed operation of the blood pump leads to a reduction of blood flow pulsatility, which triggers a series of adverse reactions.
