Toxicological Evaluation, Ultrasound‐Assisted Phytochemicals, Antioxidant, GC–MS, FTIR, and In Vivo Analysis of Hibiscus rosa‐sinensis Flowers

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
Phthalates and ethyl esters are dominant compounds, with O–H, –COOH, C≡N, C=O, and C–H as functional groups. Toxicological evaluations demonstrated that both powder and extract forms were well tolerated in animals, with no significant adverse effects observed in biochemical, hematological, or histopathological parameters.

Metabolite Screening From Pinus pinea Needles Reveals (+)‐Isocupressic Acid as a Key Phytotoxin for Weed Management

open access: yesPhytochemical Analysis, Volume 36, Issue 8, Page 2374-2384, December 2025.
This study explores the phytotoxicity of Pinus pinea needle extracts and metabolites to evaluate their potential for controlling dicotyledonous weeds. A strategy based on GC–MS, NMR, and optical methods revealed an array of aromatic compounds which are of crucial interest for phytochemical research. Hence, a bio‐guided purification led to the isolation

Intraspecific plant chemodiversity at plot level has contrasting effects on arthropod functional groups

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 39, Issue 12, Page 3732-3750, December 2025.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Plant chemistry mediates interactions between plants and their environment. While intraspecific chemodiversity at the individual plant level is well studied, the effects of chemodiversity at the plant community level on arthropod interactions need more attention.
